At Hult, there really is a path for everyone. Want to master marketing? Ace entrepreneurship? All while getting your master’s or MBA with us? Our track specializations give you that freedom. The power is in your hands, with these Tracks a step on the way to your dream career move. So, how does it all work? Here are some common FAQs to give you the guidance you need.

What tracks are on offer for both Master’s and MBA?

Hult’s full-time Master’s in Business Administration, Master’s in Management, and Master’s in Marketing programs offer optional specialist tracks for students interested in complementing their master’s degree with a deep dive in a specialist discipline. Specialized tracks offer courses that are more aligned with the specific skills and knowledge required for a target industry or function.

  • Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) offers five track options: Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Analytics, and Strategy
  • Master’s in Management (MIM) offers five track options: Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Analytics, and Internship*
  • Master’s in Marketing (MMKT) offer three track options: Branding, Analytics, and Generative AI

*The Master’s in Management with Internship track offers students the opportunity to complete a full-time 12-week internship around their campus region over the summer months. The full-time internship replaces elective courses.  Students can still do a part-time summer internship if they choose a different track.

Why would you do a track vs the general MBA and MS programs?

It comes down to breadth vs depth!

Tracks offer students the opportunity to get more specialized in a particular discipline and develop skills towards careers within their track area. In highly competitive job markets, having an MBA with specialized skills can give you an edge over other candidates. Employers may look for individuals with specific skills and knowledge that align with their business needs.

The decision to pursue a specialized track or not will come down to each individual’s goals. Some students prefer to be exposed to a broader range of topics and knowledge in their MBA program and to be able to choose courses across a range of different disciplines. This makes the general MBA more attractive as it allows students to choose from a larger pool of elective choices.

At Hult, we help our students chart the best course to suit their goals.

What skills do you gain from doing tracks?

Tracks allow for a deeper dive into knowledge and skills in a specific area, below are some sample skills that students can expect to develop in each program track area (please note these are not an exhaustive list for each):

  • Analytics Track (MBA, MIM, or MMKT): Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, Business Process Analysis
  • Marketing Track (MBA or MIM): Product Development, Customer Analysis, Product Sales Strategy
  • Entrepreneurship Track (MBA or MIM): Social Entrepreneurship, Pitching, Entrepreneurial Finance
  • Finance Track (MBA or MIM): Financial Analysis, Investment Management, Budget Management
  • Strategy Track (MBA): Consulting, Change Management, Strategic Planning, Leadership
  • Branding Track (MMKT): Brand Management, Social Media Marketing, Multi-Channel Campaign Management
  • Generative AI Track (MMKT): Artificial Intelligence for Business, Prompt Engineering, Data Ethics
  • Internship Track (MIM): gain hands-on work experience while applying your skills in a 12-week, full-time internship around your home campus region (internship-specific skills)

How does the program journey differ when you select a track vs doing the general program?

The MBA, MIM, and MMKT programs are full-time, one-year accelerated programs (September to August).

All students take a set of core courses tied to their degree and move through these courses in a learning cohort. This also includes leadership courses which are an integral part of every program at Hult. Over the summer, all students also have the opportunity to rotate to international campuses and city seminars (visa applicability required).

Students who select a specialist track will be required to take a specific set of courses that run across the spring and summer semesters. All courses in that track must be passed to earn the specialist track. Students who opt not to complete a specialist track will have more course choices to choose from during the summer elective terms.

All students complete the degree on the same timeline.

Do you have to select tracks before you start the program?

No, students do not need to commit to a track before they start their Hult program. There will be track information sessions offered to students in the fall semester where they will learn more about the different track requirements and will have the opportunity to get advice from faculty, Hult career advisors, and Hult alumni with experience in different job industries.

All students interested in a track will officially register for their track of interest during their Fall term and take their first required track course in the spring semester.
