(SAN FRANCISCO – April 2nd, 2012) – The two-day event called Startupism brings established entrepreneurs together with 500 people at the early stages of starting a business. Through a series of panels, keynote speeches and interactive events, everyone in attendance gets tips on launching a dynamic and successful business.
Running from April 2nd–3rd at San Francisco’s famous Cowell Theater, Startupism will assemble a collection of start-up focused activities. Among these are start-up “death matches”, where companies vie for the attention of venture capitalists, and exit panels, where investment bankers, corporate acquirers and entrepreneurs shine a light on what merger and acquisition teams look for in an investment.
Other sessions feature leading figures from Google Ventures, Mozilla and ESPN Mobile, plus an all-star team of journalists and tech writers from the likes of TechCrunch and Bloomberg News. Together they will tackle pressing issues from the monetization of mobile content to the impact of start-ups on the non-profit sector.
The innovative conference, organized by Master students at Hult International Business School, will also host two keynote speakers. On the first day Phil McKinney, the man who founded and oversaw HP’s Innovation Program Office, will offer his thoughts on how to spark innovation in business. Then Steve Jurvetson, the managing director of leading venture capital firm Draper Fisher Jurvetson will discuss disruptive innovation and entrepreneurship.
Dr. Stephen Hodges, Hult’s President said, “The area around Hult’s San Francisco campus is synonymous with start-ups, and a real hub for innovation. Our student body has shown how well connected it is by organizing this one-of-a-kind event, which will bring together a first-rate team of panelists helping business founders excel.”
After networking with others and learning from the handpicked teams of mentors, attendees will be invited to Startupism after parties on both April 2nd and 3rd.
Startupism takes place at the Cowell Theater, in San Francisco’s Fort Mason Center. To register for the event, or for further information, visit startupism.org.
