This webinar, as a part of Hult’s Thought Leadership webinar series, reflects issues that matter to global business, the community and you. Professor Amy Armstrong presents her topic The Human Moment.
The Human Moment
With a rise in remote working and virtual teamwork, our reliance on technology to communicate means that the ‘human moment’ at work is becoming lost and opportunities to connect and care for our colleagues at a basic human level is diminishing. This webinar argues that creating a culture of workplace compassion is an organizational imperative in the 21stcentury where stress-related absence is growing and career burnout is a recognized phenomenon. Compassion is not just about feeling good by doing good. By embedding cultures of compassion, organizations can help to build healthier, happier and more engaged workplace environments.

About Professor Armstrong
Dr Amy Armstrong is a Hult professor, writer, and speaker on the topics of compassion and engagement at work. She is particularly interested in how crucible experiences in our personal lives, such as bereavement or critical illness, shape who we are and how we lead. Amy’s new book, The Human Moment (forthcoming in 2019) argues that organizations must find ways of becoming more compassionate in an age where our workplaces are becoming increasingly de-humanized.
