BOSTON, MA, March 22, 2009 - Hult International
Business School announced today that it is seeing a massive increase in
demand for its MBA programs,
particularly among international students. Year to date applications have increased
102% as students look to strengthen their resumes in order to better position themselves
in the downturn. Over 2,500 applications arrived from September 2008 to February
2009.
All regions are driving the increase in demand; however, applications have more
than tripled from the Americas and Western Europe. Applications from Asia, the Middle
East and Eastern Europe are up over 50%.
The school’s President, Dr Stephen Hodges, says, “It is logical for business school
applications to increase in a downturn since the opportunity cost, normally the
biggest cost of an MBA, has reduced. We see that students from all over the world
want to get an American
MBA degree. We are well positioned for this growth as we have developed
a curriculum with a uniquely international focus.”
Hult’s MBA school, initially founded in 1964 as the first corporate university in
the United States, offers its one-year
MBA program in Boston , London and Dubai. Students earn the same U.S. accredited
MBA no matter where they study and can move between campuses during the program.
Students may also take their electives at Hult’s
Shanghai MBA center.
Whilst Boston remains the most popular campus, many American students are taking
advantage of the stronger dollar by earning their
MBA in London. Applications to the
Dubai MBA program are seeing the strongest increase because of the high
projected economic growth rate and availability of working visas for all nationalities.
President Hodges adds, “At Hult, students have the opportunity to meet employers
from all over the world. Who knows where the recovery will be seen first? Students
are increasingly open to moving to where the work is, and Hult provides the ideal
platform for them.”
