Hult Professor Jehiel Zif leads Asia Seminar on Strategic Marketing and new technological products, Shanghai May 15

On May 15, 2010, renowned Professor Jehiel Zif of Hult International Business School led a seminar on ‘Strategic Marketing of High-Tech Products’ in Shanghai. More than 100 students attended the event with Professor Zif addressing the issues of strategic marketing and new technological products. This seminar closes a series of Hult “Flying Professor” events which saw Hult professors touring Asia, North America, Latin America, Europe and India hosting lectures and meeting with potential high-caliber candidates.

Professor Zif’s lecture covered topics such as “What drives consumer behavior with products like the iPad and iPhone, what determines success and failure in hi-tech industries and how can marketers select creative strategies in an environment of continuous technological progress and a global market place?” He also discussed technological innovation and customers’ absorption drawing upon the successes of Apple’s marketing campaigns.

Following his lecture, students were eager to raise questions to Professor Zif asking him to evaluate the current marketing strategies of Windows and Google. The evening ended with a casual networking event where Chinese students from all industries discussed the topics of the evening and met with current Hult faculty and students.

Dr. Zif is on the faculty of Samat Business School in Israel and Hult International Business School in Boston. For many years he was a member of the faculty of Tel-Aviv University. He holds an engineering degree from Technion—Israel Institute of Technology, and an MBA and PhD from New York University. Professor Zif has twenty years experience in marketing and management consulting and was previously president of a start-up firm in Boston in the field of educational simulations.
